Pedicapp
Introduction
The product
Envisioning a regulated business Model of pedicabs in Bogota requires a systemic approach ( vehicles, laws, infrastructure, service design); within these elements, Pedicapp is, in essence, the platform that would enable part of the management of the system and its interaction with customers.
The problem
The limited reach of public transportation in Bogota has unleashed multiple non-regulated business models of vehicles that connect users to the massive transportation systems.
One of the most relevant alternatives is based on pedicabs.
Despite the increasing importance of this alternative, the vehicles are deficient, and there are many citizens discomforts around the way they use the public spaces and some risky practices.
Additionally,(the primary concern of this part of the project) the regular users of this service have no alternative to identifying trained raiders, fair tariffs, or vehicles that fulfill the minimal safety conditions.
The goal
Create a platform that enables users to use the pedicab services, promoting safety and some social regulation over the business model.

Stage 01
Looking at the environment
Day by day, the pedicabs in Bogota have been evolving under no regulation to extend their ranges of use and load.
Such an intervention on the vehicles has resulted in hybrid vehicles that combine motorcycle parts on lightweight frames initially thought for pedal propel.
The mismatch of features represents a risk for the users, the riders, and the community, due to the poor performance of such vehicles in transit conditions ( braking, collisions, signaling...).
Although the use of these vehicles has widened for multiple purposes, the interaction with customers for commuting purposes represents the most widespread and sensitive scenario.
On the other hand, as there is no filter for the riders hiring, some of them unknown the transit rules, and hence the community is constantly exposed to risky maneuvers.
Additionally, due to the unregulated nature of the business, reports of misuse of public space, unfair tariffs, and even criminality have been associated.
Stage 02
Design
The Challenge
The first step was defined by envisioning a whole system and its ideal use form.
It brought to the ideation process of the system a new fleet of e-pedicabs, a station for maintenance and support, and a management system able to distribute them geographically according to the users' demand.

UX/UI: However, the main task of this part is defined by the construction of the platform that enables the users to interact with such a system.

What I learned
Essentially, this project's UX/UI process worked as a link to direct some industrial design proposals into a systemic approach to address an actual problem.
Such an ideation process allows me to identify the importance of mixing skillsets in the development process of complex mobility projects. ( in design terms)
